I have been a computer professional most of my life, and I still enjoy it. For the last
15 years, I've done mostly consulting and teaching. One of
the greatest things about teaching is that you have to keep on learning new stuff.
I am happiest at work when I am producing something tangible - code, training, etc.
It's also important to me that my work is useful to somebody.
What I do: training, technology, budgeting, managing
What I'd like to do: more actual teaching, including online
Most of what I have done in the past is in my resume. Of
course, it is impossible to detail all the fun projects that I have done in just 2 pages. I
also recommend LinkedIn as a place where professionals can network.
At the moment, my motto is "training at the point of need,"
which means that I am learning a lot about how to deliver training via the web, podcasts,
video, wikis and anything else that looks promising. I am trying to use the technology as
I learn, so I am participating in a variety of online seminars and communities.
I will be piloting some new training technologies in the next 6 months, and hope to have
something useful to say about them in my blog.
In June 2007, I will ride my bicycle 545 miles from San Francisco to Los Angeles. My goal is to
raise $4,000 for the San Francisco AIDS Foundation. I need your help to achieve this goal.
There are many ways that you can contribute:
I appreciate your support!
I am married, with 3 grown children and 3 young grandchildren. Take a look at pictures of the family
What I do: read, dance, bicycle, play a little tennis
What I'd like to do is in my 43 Things list, which you can see in the sidebar.
I support the following organizations and charities:
This is where I want the text of my blog to appear. It really shouldn't be that complicated, but I haven't figured it out yet. In the meantime, there is a link to my blog, and a ZoomCloud of the tags from my blog, but that isn't the final answer.
